Being a leading manufacturer of edible cooking oils and banaspati ghee renowned brand “SHAN COOKING OIL’’ and “SHAN BANASPATI” we are committed to produce the safe food products that meet the highest food safety standards with sound & responsible food safety & risk free management during preparation, processing, manufacturing, packaging, storage, marketing and delivery of our safe food products. We focus on prevention of safe food products contamination as the first line of defense against food safety hazards. Our safe food products meet or exceed statutory, regulatory and mutually agreed customer requirements related to food safety. We are committed for continual improvement of the Food Safety Management System.
Our Key Principles
1. Our safe food products cause no risk of harm to consumers and are approved as per food laws and PSQCA/PFA standards.
2. At MIPL teamwork, engagement, ownership and support by everyone are dynamic for achieving our food safety objectives.
3. We ensure that the Food Safety Policy is reviewed annually by food safety team/MRC (Management Review Committee) and communicated to employees and third parties, also posted on our web site.
4. We continually review our food safety policy to effectively manage food safety risks associated with changes in products, processes and technologies.
5. Control points considered as critical are managed within hazard control plan.
6. Our factory demonstrates due diligence with regard to food safety by reducing potential risks from micro biological, physical or chemical contamination.
7. We have established a food safety team to identify all types of control points, which could potentially cause a hazard to customers of our products.
8. We have also established an excellent traceability system for our safe food products.

HALAL FOOD SAFETY POLICY

“Allah, the Almighty is pure and accepts only that which is pure. Allah has commanded the faithful to do that which he commanded the messengers, and the Almighty has said, ‘O`ye Messengers! Eat of the pure things, and do righteous actions’. And Allah the Almighty has said: “O` ye who believe! Eat of the pure things wherewith we have provided you.” Then he mentioned (the case of) a man who, having journeyed far, is disheveled and dusty and who spreads out his hands to the sky (saying): O’ Lord! — While his food is unlawful, his drink unlawful, and he is nourished unlawfully, so how can his supplication be answered!” (Muslim).
Being a leading manufacturer of edible cooking oils and banaspati ghee we are committed to produce halal safe food products continuously and consistently, during halal preparation, processing, manufacturing, packaging, storage, marketing and halal delivery of our halal safe food products. Apart from obtaining halal certificate for our operational premises, we are operating stringent internal controls over raw materials procurement. All our halal raw materials are certified halal by the source country local Islamic food and nutrition certification bodies. All raw materials supplier is asked to submit a statutory declaration to confirm that they comply with halal requirements in relation to the manufacturing process, storage and transportation of raw material supplied. Our halal safe products are complying with Islamic Law or Shariah, hygienic, not harmful to health, free from anything regarded as filth (najis) under Islamic law. Punjab Halal Development Agency oversees the whole chain of our halal safe food products manufacturing processes to ensure halal compliance with food laws and PSQCA halal standards requirements.
